Work and Student Labour / The Christian Virtue of Humility in Education / ACU Update
As the title of this article indicates, two related things are being considered, namely (I) work, as described in the Oxford English Dictionary as: (A) activity involving mental or physical exertion in order to achieve a result; or (B) the activity or job that a person does, to earn money. The second consideration is (II) student labour which describes a person studying at a university or college involved in physical work along with their expected mental exertion in their studies.
In our current times work has different connotations to different people. For the majority work is how one can earn a living through an income. This is very much inward looking and self-inclined. The minority might describe work as being an activity that is engaged from the heart with enjoyment.
