ACU is setting a global standard of excellence by bringing in teaching and
research faculty from around the world and Africa who are renown in their fields.
The approach to learning at ACU is unlike anything I’ve experienced. Reading and
preparations are done outside of class time to make the classroom experience a place
for discussion and debate.
Interaction with the history of ideas and seeing everything from within a vibrant
faith in God is an exceptional experience for learning.
One of the most unique and enjoyable aspects of ACU is the opportunity to do
something with your hands - to work.
ACU calls it the “Student Labour Programme.” All of the students work a variety of
jobs for a few hours on campus to help cut the costs, gain some experience, and
appreciate the benefit of serving each other through our work so that we can all
enjoy a better university environment.
I have really come to appreciate work and the dignity of accomplishing something
that benefits everyone.
Being a Christian university, we all have a common bond in Jesus Christ.
This really makes ACU more like a family than a school. The friendships are deep and
make the whole learning experience fun and exciting.
The studies are hard work, but doing them with instructors who are mentors and care
about you, and friends who encourage one another,
make the work of university a great experience!
